Lucierna, Europe’s leading provider in application performance management (APM) solutions, today announced the availability of their new version Lucierna 5.

Lucierna APM Decision Analytics for DevOps

Lucierna APM allows us to monitor each part of our applications, from end-to-end. Lucierna allows us to be proactive; it enables us to optimize our applications and the end users’ experience. - Michel Hofman, I.T. General Manager at Toyota Spain.

Lucierna coined the phrase “Complete Enterprise APM” to reference the robustness of features and benefits it offers to large businesses today: it monitors all the transactions, allowing deep diving into all the lines of code, as opposed to analysis based on samplings that are often not representative. Lucierna can scale to fit enterprise needs, provides true end user monitoring capabilities, even for mobile devices, unassisted diagnostics and recommendations as well as automated discovery of application topology, replacing outdated techniques from other APM solutions that required manual efforts to implement and configure. The company offers all that functionality in a lightweight, very low overhead product, so it’s quick to install and deploy, and doesn’t negatively impact overall performance.

The company’s solution development approach was also unique: while most application performance management tools are intended for use either by the Development team or the Operations team, Lucierna created a solution that provides functionality needed by both groups.

“Lucierna is the only one offering 'Complete Enterprise APM'”, stated Manuel López, CEO of Lucierna Inc. “We take a deep dive into all the code, we’re not merely sampling. That completeness leads to analytics on which both Dev & Ops can base decisions and optimize applications. And, we do it in an ‘end user centric’ way, honoring the importance of end user satisfaction in all we do, so that I.T. makes decisions to ensure the best service levels.”

“Lucierna APM allows us to monitor each part of our applications, from end-to-end”, stated Michel Hofman, Information Technology General Manager at Toyota, the world’s third largest automobile manufacturer. “Lucierna allows us to be proactive; it enables us to optimize our applications and the end users’ experience”.

What’s new in Lucierna 5

With this latest release, Lucierna shakes up the APM market with the industry’s first Decision Analytics for APM. Lucierna takes analytics to the next level enabling IT teams not only to analyze application performance data but also to make key decisions about infrastructure, operations, and development to optimize application performance.

For example:

  • How much can I consolidate my data center without impacting end user experience? Lucierna can tell you that reducing CPU capacity by 5% will result in a 25% reduction in end user experience.
  • Where should I focus my development efforts to improve application performance? Lucierna tells you that reducing database calls by 20% will result in a 70% improvement in end user experience.
  • How will expanding our user base for the application impact performance? Lucierna tells you that increasing number of users by 10% will result in a 25% reduction in end user experience for all users.

Other new features in Lucierna 5 include:

  •     Business Process Support
  •     Real Time Capacity Optimization
  •     Advanced Baselining
  •     Enhanced Scalability
  •     Accessibility Features
  •     Greater Ease of Use
