Jupiter, FL (PRWEB) April 09, 2013
G4S will break ground with Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County on a new energy efficient, ‘green’ home, on Tuesday, April 9 at the Kennedy Estates II in Jupiter, Florida.
G4S is donating $70,000, representing 70% of the total cost of the home. G4S has been a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity for the past several years, including the Miami Blitz Build, repainting the local Habitat for Humanity retail store, providing support for other home sites across FL and the U.S, but this is the first time that G4S has directly funded most of the construction of a new home.
“Our commitment to Habitat for Humanity is important for so many reasons,” said Drew Levine, President, G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. “Helping families break the cycle of poverty through home ownership is a way for G4S to invest in the safety and security of our neighborhoods. So, in addition to work as a security company, it is a way that we can help to make our communities safer in the long term.”
Upon completion, Kennedy Estates II will be comprised of nineteen single-family homes housing approximately 38 adults and 47 children. Habitat Village at Kennedy Estates II will be a “green” community and will be built according to the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) and Florida Power and Light (FP&L) Build Smart energy conservation standards.
