We have access to resources in Idaho that allow us to be competitive both domestically and abroad, and Top Air is committed to making long-term investments here in the Treasure Valley.
Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) April 08, 2013
Top Air, a company that designs and manufactures high-quality garlic and onion harvesters, recently completed construction on its new state-of-the-art production facility in Parma. All Top Air equipment is manufactured in the United States and features a patented topping system (for removing the tops of onion and garlic during the harvesting process), making Top Air a leader in onion and garlic harvesting technology.
Founded in 1990 as Specialized Manufacturing Company, Top Air adopted the brand as the company name, Top Air, Inc in 2004. Its location in southwestern Idaho allows the company to be close to its customers – and the region’s onion and garlic farmers are some of the largest and most efficient in the world. Top Air believes that being near its customers creates a feedback loop that enables it to make even better equipment.
"We have access to resources in Idaho that allow us to be competitive both domestically and abroad, and Top Air is committed to making long-term investments here in the Treasure Valley," Top Air President Duane Kido said.
Top Air’s new facility is not very far from the old, but it gives the company the flexibility to manufacture larger machines should the need arise – or increase production if global demand for its equipment increases – as the facility is 2.5 times larger than the old facility. The new facility also provides the space necessary to research and develop new products for the growing needs of agriculture mechanization.
Over the past 20 years, Top Air has expanded its product lines while doing its best to deliver only the highest quality topping and loading equipment to its customers across the globe – from the western United States where the company is headquartered, to Africa, Europe and Asia. Interest from the overseas markets continues to be strong, and Top Air has established business in a number of different countries. It has exported equipment to Australia, New Zealand, China, the European Union, South Africa, and South America. However, the United States continues to be its main market and the equipment is designed primarily around the needs of U.S. customers.
