Wall Street founded HIC Financial announced today it expects to start offering entrepreneurs seeking to sell their businesses a Guaranteed Sale, if represented by HIC Financial. HIC’s goal is to put an end to empty promises by M&A firms and Business Brokers that are leaving over 80% of small businesses for sale without a buyer.
“Being new to the M&A / Business Broker space we found that most Business Brokers have No Experience in finance and screen millions of potential buyers with limited cash out of the acquisition process. As a direct correlation, we found that over 80% of businesses listed with business brokers are not being sold” said Troy Holland CEO of HIC Financial. “Most of these Business Brokers are only interested in racking up listings and unless the perfect buyer with all cash comes knocking at their door, they have no idea how to close” Holland continued.
HIC officials insist that professionals with no background in finance poorly represent small businesses for sale and the need for competent representation has never been greater. According to a recent survey in M&A Today, 65% of small business owners do not know what their company is worth and only 15% of them have an exit strategy.
HIC officials believe when a business owner is ready to implement his or her exit strategy they need a competent representative to get the best price in a reasonable period of time. HIC officials also believe it is much easier to sell a business when you know how to finance the buyer.
HIC Financial will be hosting a series of Panel Discussions with Investment Managers over the summer to help educate entrepreneurs and insure there will be a buyer for their clients. The Panel Discussions with Investment Managers will be in an effort to create confidence for both buyers and sellers and is expected to be held in the summer of 2013.
