Daily Grommet, an online shopping site and product launch platform for innovative and undiscovered products, is working with Nepal based company to feature Marina Paper, handmade journals. These journals are handcrafted, sustainably made and environmentally friendly. They encompass all the qualities Daily Grommet looks for in great products.
Special memories deserve special treatment, and Marina Paper’s handmade journals provide a distinctive place to record experiences, ideas, and reflections. French architect Marina Shrestha launched Marina Paper in 1993 with a goal of preserving traditional Nepalese artistry. After years of traveling, Marina settled in Nepal in 1980 and became fascinated by the famed Daphne paper, which is made from a shrub that grows in the foothills of the Himalayas. Today, Marina Paper continues the region’s papermaking tradition in a socially and environmentally responsible way.
Each journal is handmade by seven people with seven different skills, from harvesting the plants to producing the materials to assembling the final product. The company collects and recycles all of its paper scraps, and its workshops produce little waste.
Marina finds inspiration in nature and in centuries of tradition, and her creativity shines through in the journals’ distinctive color palette and eclectic styles. Her vision translates into beautifully textured, authentic journals that are the perfect vessels for recording ideas, travel notes, and everyday reflections.
About Daily Grommet
Daily Grommet is a highly curated online marketplace and launch platform for products of great utility, style or invention that haven’t hit the big-time yet. Daily Grommet seeks out these unique products, carefully tests them, and produces a video review of each one telling the story behind its creation. Daily Grommet is rooted in the philosophy of Citizen Commerce whereby regular people form the commerce experience by suggesting products that reflect their values and interests. Citizen Commerce turns the typical top down retailer approach sideways, encourages global product innovation from small producers, and satisfies the consumer’s need to know the stories behind and origins of favorite products. The company was also just named one of the hottest sites of 2013 by Internet Retailer. For more information, visit http://www.DailyGrommet.com.
