The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, is co-sponsoring the 2013 Aventura GO GREEN Expo & Symposium in conjunction with the City of Aventura on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will take place at the City of Aventura Government Center located at 19200 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL.
Area residents and property managers are invited to attend and learn about the newest, cost-effective practices in the green and sustainability movement. The City of Aventura is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and to teaching attendees how they can participate in making the city more environmentally friendly. As Florida’s leading property management company, TCG is dedicated to educating the communities it manages on the best green and sustainability initiatives and encourages residents to put them into practice.
The event will feature desktop presentations by a panel of experts from green-minded companies such as Florida Power and Light (FPL), Lukes-Sawgrass Landscape, Waste Management and All Florida Pest Control. Topics such as all natural pest control, recycling, water conservation, Florida Friendly™ landscaping and energy saving tips will be addressed.
Panelists will include Tina Landerville with FPL, Rick Levinson of Service America, Chris Normandeau with FS Energy, Robert M. Sherman with the City of Aventura and Henry Mayer with the UF/Miami-Dade County Extension Services.
All multimedia presentations aim to educate residents and condominium managers on the ways in which the City of Aventura is “going green” and how they can establish or enhance GO GREEN initiatives in their homes and high-rise communities.
An awards ceremony will be held to recognize area communities that have implemented the most impressive sustainability measures over the past year. Light refreshments will be served.
