The launch of Facebook Home offers a whole new opportunity for mobile advertisers to advertise to consumers and remain in their conscious more than ever, appearing regularly on their home screen
(PRWEB UK) 8 April 2013
Facebook have announced the launch of Facebook Home, an android based app that replaces people’s home screens with updates from Facebook.
Unlike previous apps that need to be opened to be access, Facebook Home will constantly run in the background, updating people’s home screens with their Facebook news feed.
Due to be launched in America on April 12, the app will also become available around the world in the following weeks.
Zuckerberg has admitted that advertisements would also form part of the home screen, pushing consumers not only closer to their friends but closer to advertisers. The move represents a greater opportunity for mobile advertisers to get noticed by potential customers.
Ben Austin, Managing Director at SEO Positive, has responded to the launch with interest:
“The launch of Facebook Home offers a whole new opportunity for mobile advertisers to advertise to consumers and remain in their conscious more than ever, appearing regularly on their home screen. Mobiles are part of consumers lives more than ever, and this move by Facebook shows an understanding of this more than ever. It will be interesting to see what PPC options Facebook will offer with the new launch.”
