Reports that the housing market is finally rebounding seem to be holding true for recruiting firm Search Point Unlimited, LLC. The firm has experienced a surge in the placement of professionals in the construction, development, and title industries, according to President Kelly Martin.
CNN.com has reported that the sale of new homes is at the highest level since July 2008. Factors such as low mortgage rates, a decrease in the number of foreclosures, low supply of available properties, and a general improvement in the economy have helped drive the rebound.
As a result, Martin said job searches in these industries more than doubled in 2012 over what they have seen in the past few years, and they have already placed several title and development professionals in the first quarter of 2013. Specifically, she is noticing an increased demand for positions such as construction accounting managers, AP specialists, property managers, and commercial lease assistants in the development/construction sector. In the title area, the top positions include escrow processors, assistant processors, senior processors, commitment typists, and sales and marketing coordinators. Martin said one client in particular in the title industry has been doing a lot of hiring.
“We have a search now for an assistant processor, and I had two contract people helping this client all last summer because they were so busy,” she said.
