University Village Marketplace (http://www.uvmarketplace.com), a mix of dining, retail, and service offerings in the heart of historic Maxwell Street, will soon be welcoming two new businesses: University Village Montessori School (http://www.uvmontessori.com) and Rosati’s Pizza (http://www.rosatispizza.com).
University Village Montessori School, 1304 S. Halsted, is accepting applications for its fall semester. With a curriculum based on the philosophy, work, and writing of Dr. Maria Montessori, the school will be open to infants and children ages two months through six years. The mission of the school is to respect and nurture a passion for learning in young children and strive to give them the best possible start in life. Enrollment is limited. Kiran Devani, head of the school, invites interested parents to contact her at 773-800-9780 or info(at)uvmmontessori(dot)com.
Rosati’s Pizza will open April 14 at 1339 S. Halsted (312-455-1211), in the space formerly occupied by Reggio’s Pizza. This will be the second Chicago location for Rosati’s, which has served the suburbs for more than five decades. The menu will include thin-crust, stuffed and pan pizzas, pasta, ribs, chicken, sandwiches, and salads. Owner T.J. Sheth, who also operates a Subway restaurant franchise in University Village Marketplace, will offer dine-in, carryout and delivery, plus private parties (up to 35 guests), and catering. Rosati’s will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.
