Calvin Carter appointed to The Tabby Awards judging panel for his expertise in mobile app strategy and development.

The Tabby Awards has selected Bottle Rocket Founder and President Calvin Carter to be one of 24 judges for the only worldwide competition honoring the world’s best tablet apps. Presented by TabTimes and the Application Developers Alliance, The Tabby Awards recognizes the best iPad, Android and Windows 8 tablet apps in 27 categories.

“It’s an honor to serve on this jury of highly respected industry experts who recognize the best apps for an event considered the ‘Oscars’ of tablet apps,” said Carter, who founded Bottle Rocket in 2008. “Developing quality apps for work and personal entertainment is becoming more important as many more users adopt tablets which is a trend that was recently noted in Gartner’s study stating that tablets will outsell traditional Windows PCs by 72 percent in three years.”

The deadline for submissions is April 15. Winners will be announced at the first Tablet Ecosystem conference in San Francisco on September 12, 2013.
