Leeds Private Detectives give information regarding investigation and surveillance services in light of recent BBC News article dated 8th April 2013: Dundee benefit fraudster jailed for six months

It is a very tempting crime and in the case of Norman Lawson, family and money problems were the temptation for him to fraudulently claim benefits

According to the BBC News report Norman Lawson, a painter and decorator has been jailed for six months for falsely receiving incapacity benefit and disability living allowance while working for more than six years. The total amount claimed was more than £14,000 when he failed to inform benefit bosses that he had recovered from an injury and was working again.

The report goes on to say that Sheriff Tom Hughes jailed Lawson for six months (case number SCS2011-155670) at Dundee Sheriff Court after he pleaded guilty to two charges under the Social Security Administration Act.

Sheriff Hughes said: “I am taking into account what has been said on your behalf and I’m aware of the fact there are very clear guidelines and in your case a custodial sentence is inevitable”
