Learn how to become Green Deal compliant at The FIT Show
Following the culmination of the Master Fitter Challenge, the specially constructed pavilion in Hall 2 of The International Centre will play host to Fenestration College on April 18th who will be performing a series of live window and door installation demonstrations.
The team at the North Yorkshire-based glass and glazing training specialists will utilise the facilities created for and vacated by the finalists in the first two days of the show to highlight the many challenges the modern installer faces and demonstrate how to satisfy them.
Fenestration College will work to the British Code of Practice BS8213-Part 4, the idea being that each demonstration fully encompasses everything an installer requires to fulfil Minimum Technical Competence requirements.
Subsequent to the recent implementation of the Green Deal, Fenestration College’s team of trainers will also inform visitors of the necessity of PAS 2030 certification to be compliant with the installation of energy efficient measures; a market that is widely expected to grow in the coming years as eco-retrofitted properties become widespread.
Each demonstration will be heavily influenced by Health & Safety and Best Practice and will be observed by a small group of fabricator and installer apprentices, including the Fenestration College’s Female Installation Apprentice Sarah Mitchell, Co-Owner of Exe windows doors and Conservatories.
The entire proceedings will be overseen by Fenestration College founder Andy Clegg who will be providing a running commentary throughout, informing the assembled crowd of the what and why’s of each installation process.
Coincidentally, three of the eight finalists in the Master Fitter Challenge have benefitted from the tailored training and development that Fenestration College provides so they are very well placed to present this unique event.
The programme will run as follows:
11.00am – Window installation
1.00pm – Door installation
3.00pm – Window installation
Co-organiser of The FIT Show Paul Godwin commented:
“This event demonstrates The FIT Show’s commitment to the continuous improvement of the window, door and glazing industry. We are part of the industry and want to see it grow, not just in terms of the volume of product installed, but also its reputation in the eyes of its customers.”
Fenestration College will have a permanent presence throughout The FIT Show. Visit them at stand 2-270.
The FIT Show is being held at The International Centre Telford from 16th to 18th April 2013. More information on the seminars and how to register to beat the queues can be found at http://www.fitshow.co.uk.
