Troy, Michigan (PRWEB) April 10, 2013
On March 20th, 2013, Medtronic InterStim and AMS co-sponsored a dinner meeting for the Metro Chapter of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners (MICNP) at Maggiano’s in Troy, Michigan, featuring Dr. Jonathan Zaidan, MD, FACOG, founder and physician of Women’s Excellence in Bladder Control, speaking on the topic of female bladder control issues and collaborative practice between physicians and nurse practitioners. The program was well attended, with approximately 40 local practicing nurse practitioners in attendance.
Dr. Zaidan’s presentation began with a short video featuring two patient testimonials describing the care they received at Women’s Excellence and the subsequent improvement in their daily quality of life. Dr. Zaidan then launched into a brief and relevant presentation on how female bladder control issues can be detected and different treatment options. Employing 7 nurse practitioners at Women’s Excellence, Dr. Zaidan stated he knew first hand how important collaborative practice is in achieving the best possible patient outcomes and received enthusiastic applause from the attendees on that note.
Dr. Zaidan also acknowledged Shannon Hill, MSN, CNP and Debbie Henry, MSN, CNP, two nurse practitioners employed by Women’s Excellence that were in attendance. Shannon Hill, MSN, CNP, practices out of Women’s Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Lake Orion, where she specializes in weight management and menopause via Women’s Excellence in Menopause. Debbie Henry,MSN, CNP, is the primary nurse practitioner at Women’s Excellence in Bladder Control and Women’s Excellence in Endometriosis. Dr. Zaidan has specialized his practice to also include Women’s Excellence in Midwifery, Women’s Excellence in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, and Women’s Excellence in Robotic Surgery. “With the help of my associate physican partners and nurse practitioners, I have created centers of excellence that specialize in the obstetrical, gynecological, and urological concerns of women. I am proud of the great care and service we provide to the community”, stated Zaidan.
According to Angela Donovan, NP, the educational coordinator for the Metro Chapter of the MICNP, “Dr. Zaidan’s presentation was by far the best presentation we have ever had. It was very informative and the attendees were all engaged”. It was obvious that the crowd was impressed with Dr. Zaidan’s presentation. “Dr. Zaidan gets it”, stated one of attendees in regard to his collaborative practice model at Women’s Excellence, “Patients get better care and better outcomes follow when physicians and nurse practitioners work as partners in health care delivery”.
