Author Laurie Norlander Receives Grand Prize for “Mirror Images”

WestBow Press, the strategic self-publishing division of Thomas Nelson, Inc., has announced author Laurie Norlander as the grand prize winner of the third annual Women of Faith Writing Contest. Her manuscript, “Mirror Images,” was selected from hundreds of author submissions received from around the world. As the Grand Prize winner, Norlander’s book will receive special consideration for a publishing contract through Thomas Nelson, with a guarantee of publication through WestBow Press.

The Women of Faith writing contest entries were judged by a panel of Thomas Nelson and Women of Faith representatives. The recipients of the first and second place prizes include:

  • First Place Winner – Julie Hall will receive a free WestBow Press Bookstore Advantage publishing package for her novel, “Life Everafter.”
  • Second Place Winner – Alana Terry will receive 50% off a WestBow Press Bookstore Advantage publishing package for her novel, “The Beloved Daughter.”

“As it has in each of its first two years, the Women of Faith Writing Contest produced some incredible manuscripts from some very talented writers,” said Pete Nikolai, director of publishing services at Thomas Nelson. “We congratulate Laurie Norlander for sharing her story and encourage all the entrants to continue to pursue their publishing dreams.”

The Women of Faith Writing Contest accepted any unpublished full-length fiction or nonfiction manuscripts of any genre. The contest ran from October 1, 2012 – January 31, 2013.
