As active members of the Miami community, Cherry has served the children of Miami for many years as a Guardian ad Litem, a capacity in which she is charged with representing the best interests of minors. Hecht, who was elected to The Coconut Grove Village Council for four years and served as a Council Chairman, holds a seat on The City of Miami's Historic and Environmental Preservation Board.
