Leading online promotion company, SEO Positive, have responded to a new report which reveals UK digital ad spend increased in 2012.

A new report by the Internet Advertising Bereau has revealed that UK digital advertisement spend was up 12.5% to £5.42 billion in 2012.

The research reveals that marketers have responded to the rise of smartphone ownership, which now stands over 64% in the UK, by investing £526 million in mobile advertising.

The figure is a rise of 148% on 2011, and a real term increase of £322.7 million accounting for more than half (53%) of the £607.3 million increase in total digital ad spend.

Mobile now accounts for 9.7% of digital ad spend compared to just 1.1% in 2009.
