I hope to bring new and fresh ideas to the organization that will help us continue to nurture the rising talent of young students interested in jazz.
Red Bank, N.J. (PRWEB) April 15, 2013
Total Financial Concepts Inc. founder and CEO Robert J. Tuzzo has been tapped to serve on the board of directors of the Jazz Arts Project of Red Bank N.J., where he will help the non-profit organization further extend its mission to, "preserve, promote and perpetuate the American musical art form known as jazz."
Bob Tuzzo is the owner and CEO of a financial services company but he is also a lifelong musician and avid supporter of the musical arts in New Jersey. As a close friend of the Jazz Arts Project for many years, Tuzzo recently performed with the group during its 6th Annual Frank Sinatra Birthday Bash held in December.
Tuzzo said he was looking forward to helping the Jazz Arts Project bolster its financial standing and expanding its reach into communities in an effort to offer musical educational programs to youth.
“I’m excited to be part of the Jazz Arts Project's board of directors,” Tuzzo said. "This new post will allow me to utilize my experience in the financial services industry to help grow the financial health of the organization, which will ultimately perpetuate and reignite interest in this wonderful art form."
The Jazz Arts Project is instrumental in introducing jazz music to young students, Tuzzo said, adding that the group offers educational workshops and special programs designed especially for young students, many of whom have never seen or held a musical instrument.
“Jazz Arts Projects camps teach youngsters about music and get them interested in jazz in the hope that their appreciation for music will feed an ongoing effort to preserve and grow this great American art form and captivate their interest for years to come.”
Tuzzo began performing professionally at the ripe old age of ten, an early start that would eventually lead the singer and drummer to play in some of the hottest nightclubs in New Jersey. From 1972 through 1985 Bob was a member of the popular trio known as FDR Drive and shared the same bill in variety shows and concerts with legendary bands such as The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Len Barry, The Earls, The Belmonts, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Dovells and the Shirelles.
In 1985, Bob left FDR Drive to focus on his career in the financial services industry. His company, Total Financial Concepts, Inc., is an integrated financial services and retirement planning firm, however music was and still is a big part of his life. “I’ve worked closely over the years with the board of the Jazz Arts Project,” Tuzzo said, adding that the invitation to join the board was one he “enthusiastically accepted.”
Bob Tuzzo's experience and expertise will certainly help grow the financial arm and sponsorships of the Jazz Arts Project, he said, yet his role will certainly stretch beyond the creation of spreadsheets, ledgers and fundraisers.
"I hope to bring new and fresh ideas to the organization that will help us continue to nurture the rising talent of young students interested in jazz," said Tuzzo.
