FierceMarkets Names Derek Slater as Editor in Chief, Enterprise IT Group

Slater set to develop the editorial vision to position FierceMarkets' IT publishing group as thought leader in the industry.

FierceMarkets today announced that Derek Slater has joined the company as Editor in Chief of the Enterprise IT Group. In this newly created position, Slater will set editorial strategy and direct the continued growth of FierceMarkets' IT coverage through a portfolio of email newsletters and websites that includes FierceCIO, FierceCIO:TechWatch, FierceMobileIT, FierceContentManagement, FierceBigData and FierceEnterpriseCommunications.

Slater brings to the position more than two decades' experience in enterprise technology coverage and content strategy. He most recently served as Editor-in-Chief of CSO Magazine and CSOonline, covering IT security and risk management issues. Under his guidance, CSO won dozens of awards for editorial quality, including the Grand Neal award from American Business Media. Prior to launching CSO, he worked on technology media brands including CIO, Computerworld and ZD Net.
