MONTREAL, QC (PRWEB) April 12, 2013
iBwave, the standard for in-building software and training, is proud to announce that Bouygues Telecom, a tier-1 French operator, has selected iBwave to provide their tools of choice for the design and management of future in-building wireless projects. This includes iBwave Design with the Collection module, iBwave Unity and iBwave Mobile. The deal comes shortly after the French regulatory body, ARCEP, authorized Bouygues Telecom to use their 1800MHz spectrum for deploying LTE.
“With the growing number of complex, high density and high profile indoor locations requiring flawless mobile connections, it is necessary to have a tool that allows us to easily plan and predict high capacity network designs,” says Jean-Paul Arzel, Bouygues Telecom Networks Director. “As the industry standard, iBwave was the clear choice to help us do this.”
One of the first projects that Bouygues Telecom will undertake with its newly acquired tools is its part of the shared wireless network for the Paris Metro and RER. This massive multi-operator project promises full coverage of the RATP network by 2015, with 170 of the major stations ready by the end of 2014. Bouygues Telecom is collaborating with the other major French operators on this, to ensure all mobile subscribers using the metro can take advantage of the state-of-the-art wireless network. Bouygues Telecom also has several other indoor projects in the pipeline that will benefit from the use of the iBwave product suite to ensure optimal deployments.
“Mobile users’ expectations of the network are increasingly demanding all over the world,” says Mario Bouchard, President and CEO of iBwave. “Our software helps the industry prepare for this market growth and allows for people to stay connected inside buildings. We see the French market as one of the most dynamic ones at the moment, with projects like the Paris metro and high-visibility rollouts in stadiums for the upcoming 2016 Euro Cup.”
iBwave Design will help automate the company’s entire indoor network planning and design process. iBwave Mobile will enable field teams to easily collect building information during site surveys and import it into iBwave Design via Unity, iBwave’s in-building management platform. The Collection module will be used to validate the designs against real-life metrics, increasing collaboration between field teams and RF engineers. The iBwave products will enable Bouygues Telecom to increase productivity and standardize their indoor network design and deployment process.
