Introducing part III of online fashion retailer Missguided’s SS13 Campaign, ‘She’s so California’ marks the official start of Summer with an excitable nod to the fun times ahead.
Taking hedonistic inspiration from hazy summer west coast days at Coachella festival, LA, musical influences play through a tantalising mix of acid wash denim, leather cutouts and techno tribal prints. This time the Missguided muse is a Californian girl; carefree, effortlessly cool and full of attitude. Hot from sunrise to sunset, this is the girl always surrounded by her rock n' roll friends, the one with the guts to sneak backstage, and the girl who drives her car with the top down, hair blowing carelessly in the wind.
Styling takes cues from 90’s Americana with key pieces including high tops, oversized tees, cutwork dresses and leather baseball caps. The stars of the show are denim dungarees worn undone with a statement ‘Swag’ Top, along with an intensely high pair of denim cut offs - the type that Californian girls know only too well.
A vintage amp decorated with delicate summer flowers thrown at the base mirrors the free-spirited hippy 60’s vibe of the festival scene and gives the perfect backdrop the Coachella inspired looks for the upcoming music season. Our Missguided muse wraps a USA flag around her body as she smoulders in a tight black fringed body and fierce black leather boots. Tribal prints, midriff baring crops, suspender leggings, caged bikinis, tie dye and denim are all present to inspire those heading to the fields this year.
