"Making the list twice proves that we have built a workplace that people enjoy spending time in" - Gray Chynoweth, COO at Dyn
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) April 12, 2013
For the second year in a row, Dyn, the worldwide leader in Internet Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), has been named to the prestigious WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces 2013. In receiving this award, Dyn joins 50 other companies from around the world including WD-40 Company, TakingITGlobal and Zappos.com, a Dyn client.
Of the companies to be named to the WorldBlu list, Dyn is one of only 12 that are based in or have offices in the UK. Having the ability to create democratic workplaces on separate continents truly distinguishes the IaaS leader.
“We have always prided ourselves on our culture, but people used to question whether we could scale it,” said Gray Chynoweth, Dyn COO. “Well, we now have more than 200 employees and offices on two continents and are still winning amazing awards like this. I think that says we’re on to something.”
Eligibility for this award is based entirely on employee feedback, which makes seeing their name reappear on the list that much more enjoyable for Dyn management.
“We were excited to make the list last year,” said Chynoweth. “It was validation that all of the efforts we were making were being appreciated both internally and externally. But making the list twice proves that we have built a workplace that people enjoy spending time in.”
The company was highlighted for practicing the democratic principle of decentralization by having no social media policy. “They want their employees to have a voice to become brand ambassadors for the organization on their own terms,” WorldBlu wrote. “They've found this attitude of seeing employees as assets rather than threats drives creativity, ownership, productivity and flexibility.”
This is the seventh year the award has been given and, according to WorldBlu, includes companies from the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Malaysia, Haiti, New Zealand and Singapore. These companies range from five to 50,000 employees representing over $15 billion in combined annual revenue.
“People would rather work in freedom-centered rather than fear-based organizations,” said Traci Fenton, WorldBlu Founder and CEO. “WorldBlu-certified workplaces model how freedom and democracy unleashes human potential to build high performing companies that change the world for the better.”
