“By offering products designed to work together as one complete package, we give our customers the best initial quality, compatibility and longevity.”

Altec Industries, Inc., continues to expand their Green Fleet product line to reach sustainable customer solutions. The company engineers and manufactures all components to work effectively in sync—body, aerial device, and hybrid technology. This yields a final product of compatible parts, strategically designed for superior quality and long-lasting operation.
“As the demand for sustainability increases, we continue to develop solutions for our customers,” says Justin Chandler, Sales Manager specializing in Altec’s Body Division. “By offering products designed to work together as one complete package, we give our customers the best initial quality, compatibility and longevity.”
Altec aluminum bodies are up to 40 percent lighter than steel and weigh about 15 percent less than fiberglass, resulting in a significant fuel savings and reduction in maintenance. Aluminum also allows customers the choice to step down to a decreased Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) chassis. The non-corrosive material allows customers a ‘greener choice’ with the continued unsurpassed quality of an Altec body.
Altec’s integrated plug-in system uses stored electrical energy to power the aerial device, tools and exportable power, and provide cab comfort. The energy storage system is recharged by plugging into shore power or by the truck’s internal combustion engine.
This innovative system eliminates idle time at the job site, reduces fuel consumption, lessens noise pollution, decreases carbon footprint, and lowers maintenance costs. Altec JEMS was recently approved by the EPA and complies with anti-idle legislation.
Altec is a leading equipment and service provider for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor, lights and signs, and tree care markets. The company provides products and services in more than 100 countries throughout the world.
