Vienna, VA (PRWEB) April 12, 2013
Valhalla Partners today announced the promotion of two staff. Harry D’Andrea, who had been Administrative General Partner at Valhalla since the firm’s inception in 2003, was promoted to Managing General Partner. Daniel Gordon, who had served as Valhalla’s Director of Research since May, 2004, was promoted to Technology Partner.
In an additional staff change, Kevin Greene will leave the firm to pursue other interests. He will remain on the Board of Valhalla company BlueStripe. Greene had been with Valhalla since 2008, most recently as a Partner.
“Harry has been at the heart of Valhalla since he co-founded the firm ten years ago,” said Managing General Partner Art Marks. “His unwavering commitment to our limited partners, our entrepreneurs, and the team here at Valhalla have put him in a leadership role that we recognize with this well-deserved promotion.”
“I appreciate Art’s and Valhalla’s expression of confidence in me,” said D’Andrea. “We’ve got a lot of work to do and I look forward to helping the team deliver superior results to our limited partners.”
In addition to running the day-to-day operations of the firm, D’Andrea serves on the Boards of Valhalla portfolio companies ExaDigm and Exchange Solutions, and also works closely with SafeNet and Speek.
About Gordon’s promotion, Marks said, “Dan has been our Director of Research since he joined Valhalla in 2004. He’s done a stellar job supporting our sector strategy with insights into market and technology trends that gives us real differentiation as a firm. By changing his title we recognize that he also is making contributions to our work with individual companies and driving our identification of new investment opportunities, and we expect great things from him in these areas in the coming months.”
“As a technology guy with a long history of looking at products and markets, I have to say I’ve learned a ton at Valhalla about building the companies that effectively take advantage of those product and market opportunities. If you can’t execute, the best product and market ideas in the world take you nowhere. I welcome the opportunity to help our companies execute more effectively.”
Gordon currently serves on the Board of Valhalla seed investments App47 and Jetco.
“Kevin has been a key member of our team in several areas,” said Marks, “but I would single out his contributions to our recent exit at Getwellnetwork, where he served on the Board and was indispensable in steering the company toward its acquisition this past December.” Greene served on the Board of BlueStripe and as well as playing roles in EnterpriseDB, Flat World Knowledge, Handshakez, Parature, and new seed investment Speek. He will continue on the BlueStripe Board in his new role.
