Leeds Private Detectives comment on the 2011/2012 Crime Survey for England and Wales findings in light of recent Telegraph article dated 11th April 2013: Nearly a third of people ‘experience anti-social behaviour’

According to the Telegraph article the 2011/2012 Crime Survey for England and Wales 30 per cent of people had personally experience or witnessed some form of anti-social behaviour problem in their area. The most common types of anti-social behaviour, by around one in eight where drink related problems then groups hanging around on streets and then inconsiderate behaviour. This survey highlights that crime overall is falling but anti-social behaviour still effects a huge amount of people.

The report goes on to say that the police service is committed to working with communities and partner agencies to improve how anti-social behaviour is dealt with.

Chief Constable Simon Cole (Acpo) said:
“Police take a risk-based approach to dealing with crimes of this type, prioritising those most at risk”

A spokesperson from the Home Office said:
“Anti-social behaviour affects thousands of people every day and victims can often feel powerless.
“Empowering people to come forward and the police to respond quickly and effectively.”
