Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 12, 2013
Later this month, WPL Publishing will sponsor a webinar to help professionals within the construction community understand and address the latest changes to flagship documents from the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC).
There is no one more qualified to provide an overview of the substantive changes to the new 2013 editions of the EJCDC Construction Series (C-series) documents than Jim Brown, who serves as the EJCDC Construction Subcommittee’s chairperson. During the 90-minute webinar, he will provide an overview of these documents and explain the key changes in them. The 90-minute webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT). Areas of discussion regarding the new documents will include advertisements for bids, contractor qualifications statements, and construction subcontracts. New updates that Brown will address involve revised instructions for bidders, bid form, general conditions, and supplementary conditions; improvements to the change order section in general conditions; revised language for bonds and insurance; and a new clause on differing site conditions.
Mr. Brown is a vice president for Malcolm Pirnie, the water division of Arcadis-U.S. Inc., a global environmental engineering and consulting firm. He is a licensed engineer with more than 40 years’ experience in construction administration services, encompassing design, review of contract documents, value engineering, project planning, and scheduling and resident engineering. He manages submittal review, change order preparation, and construction claims and evaluation for the firm. In his current assignment, he is responsible for all design services during construction for a $4-billion upgrade of a major wastewater facility. He also serves as the EJCDC’s Procurement Subcommittee’s chairperson.
Following Mr. Brown’s presentation, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/bphobcb.
