Following the launch of its Android application with updated features and functionality, social sound network Audioboo is giving a lucky user the chance to win a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone or Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

To enter the competition, people need to sign into their Audioboo account, simply listen to the question ‘boo’ and submit their answer. The competition page can be found on Audioboo’s desktop platform – http://www.audioboo.com/competition – which was also recently updated with new features.

The competition question relates to the current BBC Radio 2 Series, The People’s Songs, which shares audio content via its popular Audioboo channel. A complementary exhibition, The People’s Songs Gallery, can be found at the British Music Experience, where Audioboo powered terminals are located to enable visitors to record audio about their own music memories… but which London venue is hosting the Gallery?

After an extensive makeover, the updated Android app now offers new features, enhanced navigation and improved audio capture functionality for users. For example, Audioboo users on the Android operating system now have the ability to download their favourite ‘boos’ straight to their smartphone or tablet as well as categorise content.

Rob Proctor, CEO of Audioboo, said: “As initial reaction to the new Android app has been fantastic, we thought we’d run a little celebratory competition. Users don’t have to own an Android device to enter, but if they win they soon will! We’ll be announcing a winner after 5th May and the lucky person can choose whether between the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone or the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

“Anyone with an Android smartphone or tablet can easily search for ‘Audioboo Two Beta’ in the Google Play store and explore the new features. Whether you want to listen to audio news, share content from your favourite radio station or record your own reflections, Audioboo is fast becoming a global community of millions.”

Existing Audioboo Android app users should uninstall the old app before downloading the new version.
