Jimmy Dillon, accomplished musician and insightful instructor for Guitar Control, has returned with another video lesson that is available for viewing online at anytime. This time around, he’s rockin’ the acoustic and it’s all about playin’ rhythm guitar.

This video is actually a clip taken from Jimmy Dillon’s upcoming set of DVD lessons titled Modern Acoustic Guitar, which will be available in Spring of 2013. It’s a brief five minute reggae guitar lesson that players of all skill levels may find a bit of benefit from, while also getting a little taste of Jimmy’s easy going yet effective teaching style.

Jimmy begins by talking about the importance of rhythm, as it’s the basis of music, so basically it’s a rhythm guitar lesson that also offers up some helpful tricks and general advice on voicing, also known as chord structure. However, he spends most of this video conveying an upbeat style riff that contains a few common reggae guitar chords, which can be ideal for working on rhythm for guitar. Also, guitar rhythm tabs are included, which have proven to be quite handy.

Mr. Dillon is an accomplished guitarist who has been playing for over five decades. Through the years, he’s become rather proficient in several different styles including; blues, rock, bop, ska, country, and reggae guitar. Therefore, he has shared the stage with world-class musicians such as Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.

Ever since complimentary lessons like these started appearing on the internet, almost anyone, anywhere, at anytime, is able to access useful and often invaluable information on nearly anything with unprecedented ease. So, perhaps it’s time to learn the guitar?
