According to Econsultancy, Internet Explorer users are the most valuable customers online. The research carried out by Qubit, a customer data platform, looked at over 100m visits on 90 leading retail sites. Figures showed that those using Internet Explorer to browse and shop were the most likely to go through and purchase an item. The findings made from December 2012 to January 2013 captured Christmas and sale shoppers and showed that Internet Explorer users not only had the highest conversion rate at 3.14 percent, but also the highest average customer value at £2.42 per visit. Furthermore whilst other browser users have a higher basket value – Firefox users average basket was £110.99 and Safari £108.44, Internet Explorer users have a higher chance of converting making them the most valued of all customers.
