Leader in lactation cookies introduces gluten and dairy free mix to create cookies at home that help with milk production.

Milkmakers, the pioneer in lactation cookies, is today announcing the availability of “It’s a Mix,” a premade bag of cookie mix that moms can use at home to make their own batches of the previously single purchase cookies that promote milk production.

“During the last two years, we have received more than 5,000 emails asking us to create a product that would allow them to make our cookies at home,” says Emily Kane, founder of Milkmakers. “In addition, there were a substantial number of moms that were concerned with gluten intake who we also needed to consider in our next product rollout.”

A 2008 study of 1323 breastfeeding moms revealed that concern about not having enough milk was the main reason for discontinuing breastfeeding cited by more than 50% of breastfeeding mothers. There have been medications brought on, and taken off the market to help women, but most are seeking a natural solution.

Lactation cookies are an easy, delicious, and nutritious way to support milk supply. Key ingredients known to help boost milk supply such as oats, brewer’s yeast, and flax seed are baked into each Milkmakers cookie. These ingredients work together to make Milkmakers a wholesome, beneficial treat for breastfeeding moms that nourish them at a time when they need it most.

Milkmakers products are made with organic ingredients, and are now available in formulations for those who are gluten and dairy sensitive. The new “It’s a Mix” is available online starting today and will be in retail stores shortly. Pricing is $14.99 for a bag (that makes 12 cookies.) Orders of three or more are $12.99 each. The gluten-free bag is $17.99 for one, and three or more are $15.99 each. There are also monthly subscription options available.
