Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 15, 2013
Conventus (http://www.conventus-sei.com), a national information security consulting firm, will be unveiling its Simple On-Line Visualization Engine (SOLVE) product suite at the 2013 Symantec Vision conference in Las Vegas. Experts in crafting solutions to thwart Advanced Persistent Threats through deployment of programs, processes and tools that prevent intrusion, the new Conventus SOLVE platform provides a consolidated view into all aspects of a company’s security system.
A global leader in the creation of server security programs that lock down key assets, Conventus provides the tools to deliver insight into anomalous behavior and drive visibility into risk, ensuring optimal product performance. Through its new SOLVE product, Conventus closes the gaps in enterprise-wide security reporting simply, quickly and efficiently by providing real-time visibility into all security products in one single dashboard instead of separate logins and separate reports that have to be manually compared and merged.
“At Symantec’s Vision conference, we come together as an industry to share best practices and gather the tools necessary to identify and prevent APTs,” said Alex Moss, managing partner at Conventus. “In a world where over 70,000 new threats are created and released every day, it’s imperative that corporations take strong steps to address the threat or risk significant economic impact. Through SOLVE, we’re helping provide simultaneous visibility into all security tools so that threats can be identified and addressed swiftly and definitively.”
SOLVE connects directly to a company’s existing security product database including Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Critical System Protection and Symantec Data Loss Prevention, thereby eliminating the need to copy data and install new hardware just to report. Data from Symantec and other security products is displayed as it is happening. Users can see if security products are properly configured and where they need to be. Extensive drill-down views allow users to see the granular detail for all their products.
A Symantec National Platinum Partner, Conventus specializes on endpoint and server security, compliance, and data loss prevention. At Symantec Vision 2013, Conventus will be sharing its expertise on information security. In addition to one-on-one discussions and demonstrations of its new SOLVE dashboard in the Expo Hall, Conventus will be addressing the topic of APTs on Tuesday, April 16th at 2:30 pm.
In a presentation entitled “Fighting APT's Through Server Security and Increased Security Tool Visibility,” Moss will be discuss identifying how attackers utilize weaknesses at the endpoints and servers, escalate privileges on those systems, set-up camp, exfiltrate data, and then cover their tracks. He will articulate the criticality of locking down IT infrastructure by deploying preventative controls across endpoints and servers. Moss will explain how to evaluate and utilize the information that is created by those preventative solutions to identify when anomalous behavior occurs in your environment. He will describe the synergy of this effort with the implementation of controls promoted by both NIST and CIS for file integrity monitoring, intrusion prevention, virtual patching, device and OS hardening. Additionally, the presentation will highlight the necessity for creating and monitoring daily, weekly, monthly baselines and trends for these controls.
