Globanet, a global leader in specialized solutions for data migration, archiving and e-discovery, today announced that its latest version of Globanet Migrate. Globanet Migrate 5.2 provide seamless data migrations to on-premise solutions, such as Symantec Enterprise Vault™, and Microsoft Exchange™, or to cloud-based solutions such as Symantec Enterprise Vault.Cloud™ and Microsoft Exchange™ Online (Office 365).

In version 5.2, Globanet Migrate provides expanded support for source archive systems including HP’s Autonomy Zantaz EAS. Organizations can now seamlessly migrate their legacy data from EAS archives with no problems. This data can then be moved to a number of destinations for further analysis or archiving.

“Our customers provided us the feedback necessary for these feature enhancements. We, as an organization, are lucky to have such an engaged user community.” said Jackie Ervin, Director of Product Management of Globanet. “Their constant feedback allowed us to build Globanet Migrate v5.2 with the user in mind making it possible to empowers them with a powerful yet robust migration tool.”

Globanet Migrate 5.2 includes enhancements designed to make tasks easier for the user:

New Features

1.    Journal Archive Migration Splitting
Journal archive migration task types can be split to migrate the source via more than one task at a time to gain better performance.

2.    Enhanced Reporting Engine
The reporting engine was retooled to produce reports more quickly, especially for large chain of custody reports.

3.    Exchange Web Services (EWS) Test Connection
EWS target is improved with robust testing of configured destination SMTP addresses. For mailbox archive migrations wrong destination SMTP addresses are highlighted for user’s convenience.

4.    Global Catalog Support
In multi-domain environment, GM can be configured to point to the GC in Active Directory advanced settings.

5.    Skip Construction for Non-Journal Items
Skip Construction for Non-Journal Items option is introduced to work along with envelope construction. When the option is selected, non-journal items, such as the ones of a different class than IPM.Note, the ones with no envelope information available, will be migrated to the target as is, with no envelope reconstruction.

6.    Direct EmailXtender (EMX) Volume Access
EMX agent is enhanced to support direct EMX access without using EMX service and COM for item retrieval. This change provides the following functionalities:

  •     Direct item retrieval type enables the retrieval of message recipients and their types through EMX database. This enhances envelope construction for EMX source.
  •     Direct item retrieval type enables the retrieval of messages from different location than the standard EMX storage location, in case the user has moved EMX files to a different location than the default for storage management purposes.

7.    Reprocess Rolled Back Containers Option
A new option is introduced to reprocess rollback failed containers. The option will retry rolling back previously failed containers.
If an item or shortcut fails rollback, it will be retried for rollback when the option is selected.

8.    Enable Shortcut healing for Verify Failed Items
A new option is introduced to heal shortcuts for those items, which fail advanced verification and are not configured to be deleted from the destination.

9.    More Sources Supported for Office 365 / Exchange Web Services (EWS) target
More task types are created to support different source migrations to EWS target. Newly added sources include EML, MSG, Mimosa, EV, and EMX mailbox archive. For the latter shortcut cleanup is introduced to remove old shortcuts from the respective mailbox upon successful migration of the corresponding item.

10.    HP Autonomy Zantaz EAS Source Support
HP Autonomy Zantaz EAS archiving solution is now supported as a source. Mailbox archive migration is supported to EV target; journal archive migration is supported to EWS target. All features applicable to other similar task types are also applicable to EAS source.

11.    Container Status Report Update
Container status report is updated to also include skipped and new containers.

Globanet provides a simple yet powerful solution in Globanet Migrate 5.2. It is quick and easy to install and use yet provides unparalleled performance. Version 5.2 adds further source and destination locations thus further increasing services for a forgotten segment of EAS users.
