InfoDesk and the Pharmaceutical & Health Technology (PHT) Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) will present a complimentary pharma intelligence webinar: “State of the Pharmaceutical Drug Pipeline 2013” on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 11:00 am EDT. Click here for complimentary online registration.

The complimentary one-hour webinar is designed to get participants up to speed quickly on the current state of the pharmaceutical drug pipeline.

In the webinar, guest speaker Mary Jo Laffler will provide a snapshot view and breakdown of the pharmaceutical pipeline today, looking in particular at anticipated FDA drug approvals for 2013, current and historical pipeline trends, and hot therapeutic areas to watch.

Laffler, Executive Editor for Clinical Development at Elsevier Business Intelligence, is a veteran pipeline researcher. For more than a decade, Laffler has provided in-depth coverage of FDA decisions, clinical trial updates and regulatory policy analysis for Pharmaceutical Approvals Monthly, “The Pink Sheet” and “The Pink Sheet” DAILY.

“Most people believe the days of blockbuster drugs are over for pharmaceutical manufacturers,” said webinar co-sponsor Mary Chitty, PHT Division Chair. “The question is, ‘What will take their place?’” said Chitty, adding, “This webinar will explore the emergence of much a more nuanced marketplace with some surprising potential winners and hot new areas to watch.”

According to Chitty, having a solid big picture understanding of the pharmaceutical drug pipeline is critical for anyone that mines the pharmaceutical drug pipeline for purposes of competitive intelligence, clinical development, licensing and business development or strategic planning.

This webinar is the first in the PHT Division’s 2013 Webinar Series sponsored by InfoDesk. The complimentary webinar series is designed to help life-science industry executives, information professionals, CI practitioners and other information stakeholders better understand how to leverage information into a sustained competitive advantage in a changing information landscape.

The webinar will be moderated by Sean Smith, Vice President of Marketing at InfoDesk.
