Accessory Genie hosts a campaign to find out what consumers want.

As we continue to grow, gathering feedback from our customers is vital.

Accessory Genie launches a three-week newsletter campaign to better understand the needs of their consumers. If a customer answers the survey as to what items they are most interested in receiving more information about, he or she will receive a coupon for 20 percent off.

“As we continue to grow, gathering feedback from our customers is vital,” explained Samantha Scarsbrook Accessory Genie Marketplace Manager. “We want them to know they have a voice, we are listening and we will continue to strive to offer them promotions on items that they really need and want.”

The survey begins by asking: “What categories are you most interested in receiving promotions on?” From there, the customer has the option of choosing up to eight categories: speakers, headphones/earbuds, car tech and bags & cases, to name a few. Once the survey is complete, the recipient will receive a coupon code for 20 percent off their next purchase, which cannot be combined with any other Accessory Genie coupons or promotional offers. The coupon expires on May 15th 2013, which is also the deadline of the survey.

Accessory Genie began the newsletter in 2008 where it was used to inform customers on products, but with no theme. In order to better meet the needs of the growing customer base, a concerted effort was made in 2012 to re-envision and retool the Accessory Genie newsletter. Since then, the newsletter has included information on the latest products, deals, and promotions. There is a main image, which highlights a product for a discounted rate. In addition, there are “Genie-ous picks”, which are four varied products that are handpicked to cater to consumers with varying needs.

The newsletter is sent to consumers who opt-in from Accessory Genie or one of their partner websites. What started off as an “every-so-often” affair has now become a weekly email. Within the past year, the subscription list has risen by 20 percent.

“Our goal is to eventually personalize the newsletter based on an individual’s shopping history,” said Scarsbrook. “Of course, there will be some surprise and delight, but most of all we want to make their shopping experience personal, relevant and fun.”
