The company's first investment, Dogtopia, reflects Thomas's values.

Thomas Franchise Solutions, a leading private equity investor in growth-oriented franchises, has announced that its founder and Chairman, Peter Thomas, is featured in this month’s cover story of FranchisingUSA mgazine..
In his article, “Investing in Values, “ Peter explains that only by being grounded in his values was he able to overcome the death of his son Todd by suicide in 2000. After that tragedy, Peter decided to focus his time and energy on social entrepreneurship, and to share his experience and philosophy of values-based living and leadership. In the last decade, he founded, and remains Chairman of LifePilot (http://lifepilot.org), and developed the Todd Thomas Institute for Values-Based Leadership at Royal Roads University in BC, Canada, named in honor of his son.
While he is now recognized as one of the kings of the franchising industry, Peter Thomas comes from humble beginnings and describes his childhood home as being raised on a gravel pit. Originally from England, he arrived in Canada as a young boy with his mother, who instilled in him an unshakable foundation of ethics and values that led to his great success, and which has taken him to where he is today, from serial to social entrepreneur living an extraordinary life.
Thomas is now recognized as one of the leading developers and lenders of his time in North America. He is the past Chairman and Founder of Century 21 Real Estate Canada Ltd, founded Samoth Capital Corporation (now known as Sterling Centrecorp Inc.), and developed the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. In 2012, he founded Thomas Franchise Solutions to help other franchises grow. The company’s first investment, Dogtopia, reflects Thomas’s own values.
