North American Spine Partners with Dr. Abram Burgher to Treat Neck and Back Pain.

“We are honored to have a physician of Dr. Abram Burgher’s caliber join our efforts. Together, we look forward to providing the most advanced minimally invasive spine surgery options in the Phoenix area.”

North American Spine is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Abram Burgher, M.D., to provide the revolutionary AccuraScope® Discectomy and Neural Decompression to Phoenix and Scottsdale residents who suffer from chronic back and neck pain.

“We are honored to have a physician of Dr. Abram Burgher’s caliber join our efforts,” says Sam Bailey, Ph.D., chairman of North American Spine. “Together, we look forward to providing the most advanced minimally invasive spine surgery options in the Phoenix area.”

Exclusively offered by North American Spine, the advanced AccuraScope procedure is designed to treat chronic back pain caused by conditions such as bulging and herniated discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease. During the short outpatient procedure, Dr. Burgher may access the spinal canal through one very small incision — just three millimeters — into a natural opening (the sacral hiatus) at the base of the spine. Through this small opening, Dr. Burgher can maneuver a high-definition endoscopic camera and laser to precisely locate and treat the causes of pain at multiple levels of the spine. A single stitch or regular bandage can be used to close the incision site. Many patients experience immediate relief, walk the same day and return to normal activities the very next day.

“I look forward to collaborating with North American Spine to better serve the people of Phoenix and Scottsdale. I have seen first-hand the devastating toll chronic pain can have on a person’s life,” says Dr. Burgher. “But today there is so much we can do to treat debilitating pain.”

Dr. Burgher will perform the AccuraScope, and other advanced approaches to minimally invasive spine surgery for neck and back pain, at Freedom Pain Hospital — the nation’s first hospital dedicated exclusively to the treatment of pain. Conveniently located in Scottsdale, Arizona, the hospital’s attentive staff, state-of-the-art equipment and surgical suites allow patients to receive an innovative array of treatments and therapies under one roof.

Board-certified in interventional pain management and anesthesiology, Dr. Burgher is a top graduate of the University of Minnesota’s School of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain management at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dedicated to the advancement of pain treatment, Dr. Burgher is actively involved in clinical research to improve the quality of care for patients with chronic pain — including a human clinical trial supported by the National Institutes of Health.
