Robert James Ritchie aka Kid Rock bridges both sides of radio play, with a sound that’s a rock-country hybrid. He began his career as a rapper with the album Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, followed by The Polyfuze Method. Two more rap albums followed until 1998’s Devil Without a Cause. This breakthrough album announced the end of Kid Rock’s rap-hip hop career and the beginning of his turn toward a more rocking sound. The album featured hit singles such as “Bawitdaba” and “Cowboy,” the latter of which chronicled Kid Rock’s journey to stardom. In 1999, Devil Without a Cause was certified gold.

Kid Rock’s career began climbing, with the artist touring with large acts such as Metallica and Creed. 2002 brought another shift to his music and introduced Kid Rock to a wider genre audience. Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock collaborated on the single “Picture,” for his fifth studio album, Cocky. Artist Allison Moorer also recorded a version of the single with Kid Rock, and stations played both versions.  The song received play on both pop-rock and country stations and “Picture” was Rock’s highest song on the charts. 2003’s Kid Rock embraced this new genre change and presented a more rock and country sensibility to the artist’s music. 2006 brought Live Trucker, a live album, followed by Rock n Roll Jesus, Born Free and 2012’s Rebel Soul. Kid Rock added his catalog to Apple’s iTunes store in January of 2013, and has recently announced he plans to re-record his new breakout album Devil Without a Cause for its 15th anniversary album.

Kid Rock has toured steadily since 1999, and the Rebel Tour appears to be a monster jam showcasing his classic hits and new works. Fans need to secure Kid Rock tour tickets 2013 as soon as possible.
