Yorkshire Dales Meat Company- which has seen a 30% increase in sales of its products in ASDA stores across Yorkshire since the beginning of the Horsemeat scandal - will see its products go on sale in 16 new ASDA stores across the North of England.
Its range of carefully sourced burgers and steaks will go on sale in ASDA stores including Middlesbrough, Bishop Auckland, Stockton and Hartlepool, as well as Grimsby, Hull, Mansfield, Burnley and Colne.
Yorkshire Dales Meat Company has seen a huge 30% boost in sales of its products in ASDA stores across the Yorkshire region since a number of beef products from well-known suppliers were found to contain traces of horsemeat in mid-February 2013. Sales were particularly strong in Harrogate, York, Wakefield Durcar, Pudsey, Keighley, Chapeltown and Barnsley. Yorkshire Dales Meat Company - which is based near Bedale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales - prides itself on only sourcing meat from suppliers that share its commitment to the highest standard in food provenance.
James Knox, Financial Director of Yorkshire Dales Meat Company, said: “We’re obviously over the moon with these recent sales figures and put it down to an increasing trend of consumers looking to buy meat - and, in particular, beef - products from trusted sources since the beginning of the horsemeat scandal.
“These tremendous figures also show great confidence in our burgers and steaks, and in the brand that we’ve worked so hard to create.
“We pride ourselves on knowing exactly where our meat comes from. If meat doesn’t actually come from our own farm, then you can be sure that it will have been sourced from suppliers that we know and fully trust.”
Yorkshire Dales Meat Company was set up in 2004 by the Knox Family so that they could sell their own brand of high quality meat products. What started off as a stall on a weekly farmers market has rapidly expanded into a premier catering butchers supplying prestigious hotels, restaurants, event venues across the North of England, as well as ASDA stores.
