Over the past decade, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has developed from a spectacle into a highly respected sport with a global audience. Sports fans around the World have made their voices heard desiring a sense of real competition when they watch sports, and MMA in its true sense, delivers.
Pearls Super Fight League (SFL) is Asia's leading Mixed Martial Arts organization. Pearls SFL was founded by celebrity entrepreneur and IPL cricket team owner Mr. Raj Kundra and Bollywood megastar Sanjay Dutt in January 2012 with the intent to give Indian Mixed Martial Artists a platform to compete and grow in its home country while also bringing in talented international fighters from different parts of the world.
Making their promotional debut in March of 2012 under the direction of Mr. Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt, SFL held live events in Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh after which they aired their first reality show SFL Challengers in August of 2012. Soon after the success of SFL Challengers, they announced the weekly Friday Fight Nights series and introduced Indian Olympic Female Boxing Bronze Medalist Mary Kom as the Pearls SFL brand ambassador.
By the end of 2012, Pearls SFL emerged into merchandizing by launching a new venture Pro SFL. They rolled out deodorants as their first product followed by a clothing line with additional plans to launch sunglasses, personal grooming products and more. The first product that hit the market was the New Deodorant Range ‘Aspire, Inspire and Desire’ representing Mr. Raj Kundra, Mary Kom & Sanjay Dutt respectively.
As Pearls Super Fight League continued to book weekly shows featuring both Indian and international fighters, there was also a strong focus on featuring women’s bouts which were highly promoted by Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Mary Kom. Keeping women’s safety in mind, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra launched a self-defense campaign called 'Enough is Enough' which featured self-defense seminars and training sessions spread across Mumbai where the women actively participated.
Over the past year, Pearls SFL has funded various aspiring fighters to help promote MMA at the grass root level in India. This initiative gave birth to the new generation of training and fitness centers available in India. With the current trend for self defense and fitness for men and women alike, Mr. Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Sanjay Dutt now proudly announce SFL FITNESS - the new revolution in fitness training.
“SFL Fitness is a new concept in Fitness Training with our exclusive gyms intended to provide MMA as the new mantra for fitness training, sports and self defense. We are very excited by the success of Pearls Super Fight League and now with the launch of SFL Fitness everyone will have access to train and lose weight through a new kind of experience,” Says Chairman Raj Kundra.
In the next 12 months, the plans are slated to open 15 gyms all across India, which would be open to all fitness enthusiasts. The additional future expansion plans are to have a minimum of 100 SFL Fitness Centers across India within the next seven years.
SFL Fitness has taken a big leap by entering into the fitness sector where every individual who wishes to join and train with personalized workouts would be provided with personal trainers. To enhance these benefits, SFL Fitness also aims to provide scholarships to aspiring fighters who wish to practice or enroll with them.
“SFL Fitness is a new revolution in Fitness Training and will be another milestone in the successful journey of Pearls SFL. The goal of SFL Fitness is to create an understanding in the minds of people that fitness is a way of life rather than routine,” said Co- Chairman Sanjay Dutt.
“At SFL Fitness our objective is to ensure that the members are satisfied and support them whole heartedly in helping them achieve their best health and reach the goal they have set for themselves for sound nutrition and expert training. Part of the plans are also to setup women’s self defense cells at each SFL fitness center and continue to empower the women of the country,” Shilpa Shetty Kundra was quoted as saying.
