Fourteen of Street Toyota-Scion employees have split $4600 after losing 10% of their weight.
The competition began in January when 46 employees signed up and paid $50 to enter the competition. The dealership matched the total amount of money put in by the employees, which totaled to $4600. Employees had three months to lose 10% of their weight to be eligible to split the money.
“It was a lot of hard work and a lot of fun at the same time,” Jennifer Dunaway, Street Toyota-Scion Delivery Coordinator said. “It was all worth it at the end because I won some money but I feel great and healthy.”
From the 46 employees who began the challenge only 14 met their goal. The list includes: Barron Bohl, Greg Byler, Cullen Haworth, Kali Harrison, Edward Jordan, Misty Lerch, Darryl Dixon, Jennifer Dunaway, Darren Ochoa, Debbie Pierce, Brett Ross, Dave Walker, Shane Willett and Ann Wygant.
“The idea behind the competition was to encourage employees to live a healthier lifestyle,” Mike Good, Street Toyota-Scion General Manager said. “The incentive was winning money but the overall prize was a healthier life.”
Street Toyota-Scion is constantly offering its employees chances to participate in programs to better themselves and the community.
“I love all the things we do here at work,” Sabrina Brown, Street Toyota-Scion Payroll and HR said. “We are always getting involved in the community and that is something that feels so great.”
