Dining, stage, fine arts and co-creative partying have a new home in Omaha opening on May 18, 2013.

Fine dining, live stage, sculpture, painting, music, dance -- all that makes life worth living -- have a new home in the heart of Omaha.

The Apollon, which provides exquisite experiences in arts collaboration, opens on May 18 in refurbished space at 1801 Vinton Street. The Apollon in Omaha is the result of four years of work bringing Nebraska-based artists together in co-creative ventures. After making use of venues throughout eastern Nebraska, The Apollon now makes its home at the Vinton Street location under the guidance of Ryan Tewell, managing director.

"I'm fairly certain that we made every mistake available to us, but we also became relative experts in this burgeoning field of co-creation arts," Tewell said. "Those of us who set out on this journey together refused to believe the conventional wisdom that we'd have to leave for one of the coasts in order to do anything great. I've always been stubborn and I wanted to do something great in Omaha."

The Apollon's opening, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Vinton Street Creativity Festival. The 1801 Vinton location will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day.

The Apollon dips into the deep pool of Nebraska talent and serves up fine cuisine, performances, gallery shows and what might best be described as creatively staged party entertainments.
