Yorkshire Dales Revamp: State Of The Art Residences Compliment The Stunning Swale Valley

Natural Retreats are delighted to announce their flagship site, Yorkshire Dales has undergone a refurbishment to ensure the eighteen residences remain of the highest standard. A combination of award-winning design and open plan living areas will ensure the brand offers some of the finest self-catering holidays in the Yorkshire Dales, an area of outstanding natural beauty serving as the ideal location for walking, family activities, and fine cuisine, should one wish to frequent the area’s award-winning restaurants. What’s more, it’s an important year for Yorkshire with the famed Tour de France route being awarded and the cycle set to take place in close proximity to Natural Retreats Yorkshire Dales.**

This carefully considered redecoration incorporates state of the art British designed fixtures, fittings and equipment combined with a rejuvenated exterior, enhanced roads and pathways. A selection of properties will also boast private outdoor fire pits encircled by sunken seating, enabling guests to further appreciate the beautiful backdrop and views across the stunning Swale valley.

In line with Natural Retreats’ vision to share stories and experiences that make the Yorkshire Dales so special, the coming months will witness the introduction of an enhanced landscaping plan. This plan will sympathetically enhance the existing flora and will include interpretation and signage around the site, allowing guests an insight into the delightful Natural Retreats tale. Reconditioned railway sleepers, vertically installed and set within a dry stone wall compound made of local Yorkshire Stone, are uplit to enhance the guest’s sense of arrival.

Natural Retreats’ eco-conscience has seen local-level involvement throughout the project, from local craftsmen installing the entrance feature to local stone masons rebuilding the stone walls. Owing to a re-established circular sheep fold, guests can unwind and enjoy the scenery across the Swale Valley and beyond. The fresh water spring has been re-established as part of the woodland walk, thus providing guests with a unique trail past the spring, which dates back more than 200 years and once provided the entire town of Richmond with fresh spring water.

The interiors have been freshly revamped courtesy of Interior Design agency NoChintz. Similar to their work with Natural Retreats at their site in John O’Groats, NoChintz have used locally-sourced regional suppliers, including the award-winning contemporary furniture company Naughtone. The residences have been lovingly furnished with bespoke sofas designed exclusively for Natural Retreats, in addition to innovative ‘cube’ seats, showcasing colours selected to compliment and mirror the idyllic scenescape.

Natural Retreats are crafting a brand standard of British manufacturers and esteemed products within the Natural Retreats collection, whilst incorporating local items wherever possible. This is exemplified by their locally-produced sofa cushions and ‘tree trunk’ bedside tables to emulate the scenery, which are under the spotlight of their debut pendant lighting, looping a triad of shades on long flexes as a focal point.

Ethical and exquisite in design, Natural Retreats’ vision will ensure the creation of a robust and durable yet aesthetically alluring interior that is sustainably sourced and executed in the most sustainable manner.

Indulge in a visit to one of the stunning Natural Retreats Yorkshire Dales residences from as little as £480 for 3 nights for a family of 4.

*Price based on 4 guests staying at a 3 bedroom family residence with 1 en-suite shower room and 1 family bathroom.
