Calypso Adds Digital Engineer to Creative Team; Appoints Digital Media Strategist from PR Team

Calypso Communications, an integrated marketing agency, announced that it has hired Junito “JB” Bermudez as digital engineer, a new position created to help meet increasing demand for the agency’s digital expertise.

Bermudez joins the collaborative group of creative brand professionals at Calypso and rounds out an existing team of video producers, animators, copywriters, designers, and illustrators.

JB relocated from Rochester, New York, where he worked as the in-house interactive developer for two years at Roberts Communications, Inc. While at Roberts, JB worked on web development, SEO projects, and email campaigns for clients including Xerox, Dorschel, MasterCard, BlueCross BlueShield, Security Health, and Jewish Senior Life. Previously, he worked at the University of Rochester in information technology and in the web group at The College at Brockport. JB received a B.S. in computer information systems from The College at Brockport, State University of New York.

“The team at Calypso was worth the move. In so many marketing shops, the tech and web folks are secluded in cubicles apart from the rest of the team,” said Bermudez. “Calypso gets it. There is really a team atmosphere here—and our work and client relationships show that.”

Calypso also named Caitlin Evvard as its digital media strategist on the agency’s expanding public relations team. Caitlin successfully spearheaded several challenging SEO projects and proved clear value for multiple clients with her broad social media expertise.

Caitlin joined Calypso in 2009 and has steadily increased her responsibilities to include SEO, pay-per-click campaigns, and social media outreach and engagement. With a certification from HubSpot in inbound marketing communications, she helps Calypso clients understand, navigate, and optimize networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google Plus. Caitlin graduated from Keene State College with a B.A. in communications and garnered experience planning and executing inbound marketing strategies at CreativeMind Search Marketing prior to joining Calypso.
