Santa Rosa, California (PRWEB) April 16, 2013
Sonoma County’s recession is officially over. This comes from prominent senior economist Jerry Nickelsburg, Ph.D., of UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. Job growth is ahead of the Bay Area, state and nation and nearly matches the national growth leader North Dakota. Nickelsburg said, “in Sonoma County, almost all the recession is over with.” Sonoma County’s nonfarm job growth ranks barely behind that of North Dakota, the fastest-growing state in the U.S. (courtesy of the closely watched UCLA Anderson Forecast). Sonoma County’s $1.3 billion tourism industry is the major source of this shift as hundreds of new hospitality related jobs and businesses and open up in the area.
