Caregiver Services and Home Care Inc. applauds Atria Hillcrest for their upcoming life Guidance Memory Care Neighborhood at Thousand Oaks. Atria Hillcrest Executive Director Michelle Norton announced the completion of a new Life Guidance Memory Care Neighborhood opening at Thousand Oaks at the end of May. Atria Life Guidance communities are secure neighborhoods designed specifically for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments. Atria’s trained staff work with residents to create a high-quality life with personalized attention and stimulating activities tailored to each person’s unique abilities. The Life Guidance neighborhood will feature a spacious dining room, outdoor terrace and a new demonstration style kitchen.
Atria Hillcrest’s new Executive Director Michelle Norton is excited about the renovation saying, “With an aging population and Alzheimer's disease on the rise, memory care is a growing need in our area and across the nation. Our Life Guidance neighborhood will provide older people, living with memory impairments, an opportunity to live in a home-like setting designed with dignity and safety in mind.”
Atria Hillcrest Community Sales Director, Lloyd Hartley, guest presenter during the Council on Aging meeting this April, aired at TOAKS TV Channel 10 invited all seniors and family members and friends to attend their “Dusty Shoe Tour”, which concluded last April 12, attended by various guests from the healthcare industry, Alzheimer Association and family members. Life Guidance Director Mark Stelzer articulated to all guests during the tour their Life Guidance Program success in other Atria Senior Living community, which Mark also headed and started. Alzheimer Association 2013 facts and figures affirm the immense increase in Alzheimer cases (660,000 cases) by year 2025 as compared to 480,000 cases for year 2010 in the State of California. USA statistics shows, according to Alzheimer Association facts and figures reveal that by year 2025 Alzheimer’s Disease cases will grow to 7.1 million from its present case of 5.2 million. By year 2050, total Alzheimer’s cases will grow to 13.8 million to a high of 16 million cases, barring the development of medical breakthrough to prevent, slow or stop the disease.
