After years of research and development in conjunction with a number of academic, industry and government partners and extensive field testing worldwide, Intelesense Technologies, a visionary manufacturer of sensors and sensor management devices, is announcing the world’s most advanced sensor platform ever developed, with the goal of redefining the way that people and companies acquire real-time information related to the world around them.
InteleCell™: The InteleCell is an advanced, next-generation wireless data acquisition device. Its open architecture supports many hardware interfaces and protocols, allowing virtually any sensor to be plugged in and transmit its data from anywhere in the world. Supported sensors include many models of weather sensors, water quality, air quality and gases, imagery, biotelemetry, soil monitoring, medical devices, and many more.
The InteleCell has a built-in GPS, advanced power management and Wi-Fi capabilities to allow configuration and data access from smart phones or tablets even while deployed in the field. The devices all have a high-capacity battery with many recharging options, including solar panels, wind turbine, water turbine, fuel cell, and other options, allowing for years of unattended use. Further, each device ships with gigabytes of internal memory for potentially years of local storage capacity between transmissions.
InteleCells automatically form a distributed wireless mesh network with up to a 40 mile range between stations, enabling the network of sensor stations to cover hundreds of miles. The devices can then uplink the data from the network via cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, military radio systems, or other long-range telecom, allowing the network to be deployed literally anywhere in the world. The InteleCell is MIL-STD-810G compliant and is available with an extreme cold option supporting deployments as low as -70 degrees Celsius. All of these features make the InteleCell uniquely suited for reliable acquisition of sensor data in rugged environments, without the need for power or other telecommunications infrastructure.
InteleMote™: The InteleMote is a smaller version of the InteleCell. Like the InteleCell, the InteleMote is a rugged, next-generation data acquisition device that supports many hardware interfaces and protocols. However, InteleMotes are primarily designed for applications where there are multiple locations within a relatively small area or only require a few sensors at each measurement location.
InteleMotes support one serial and four analog sensor inputs and a shorter-range distributed wireless mesh radio with up 6 miles between stations. The larger InteleCells can also acquire data from InteleMotes and thus together produce a long- and short-range sensor network solution for remote areas.
Both InteleCells and InteleMotes deployed worldwide transmit their data to the Intelesense Data Exchange, a massive geo-repository that gathers, stores, analyzes and sends the resulting information to secure customizable online Portals that can be accessed by any PC, Mac, smart phone or tablet from anywhere in the world.
Intelesense’s CEO, Dr. Kevin Montgomery, praises this monumental achievement. “InteleCells and InteleMotes represent a historic advancement in wireless sensor technology. Both devices have been field tested in some of the most extreme conditions on the planet and are able to function autonomously and reliably anywhere in the world- whether [they are] deployed in the freezing mountain ranges of Alaska, the hot deserts of Iraq or in tropical rainforests in Hawaii.”
