Part of the challenge of running the marathon is the training beforehand. Going running on cold and frosty mornings is a challenge in itself but it will be worth it to be in the marathon in April.
Manchester (PRWEB UK) 17 April 2013
Jefferies Solicitors Manchester duo Nina Ramsden and Deborah Adams are getting ready to run the Virgin London Marathon on April 21st this year. They are hoping to raise their target of £3,000 for brain injury charity Headway UK. Taking part in the marathon is one of the many ways in which the Altrincham based firm of personal injury lawyers is undertaking its commitment to raise funds for the brain injury organisation as holders of the ‘Headway Baton’.
Nina, Director at Jefferies Solicitors, is no stranger to running having taken part in the Great North Run last year and more recently the Great North West and Wilmslow half marathons.
Training regularly for the forthcoming event Nina says: “Part of the challenge of running the marathon is the training beforehand. Going running on cold and frosty mornings is a challenge in itself but it will be worth it to be in the marathon in April."
Deborah adds: “It’s very exciting to be involved in the London marathon and to be running for such a good cause!"
The Manchester based Solicitors has a particular affinity with the Headway charity, in that, albeit at different ends of the spectrum, both organisations meet brain injury victims and their families on an ongoing basis. The broad and diverse effects of brain injuries mean there are a lot of resources required to help people who have been affected and there is much fund raising to be done.
Jefferies has been involved in several fund raising events in recent years but this year the team has taken the headway baton and so now has a special goal of raising money for this excellent charity. Brain injury affects not only the person who is injured but that person’s wider circle of family and friends who are left to care for a person who is often not only very disabled but very different to the person they were before the injury.
“We are proud to be associated with a charity like Headway which provides such support for victims and their families.”, says Nina.
