New research is helping children find new ways to communicate effectively.

The producers of Breakthroughs with Martin Sheen are pleased to announce a June debut for a report exploring options to help educators and therapists give children with language disorders the tools they need to communicate more effectively.

Breakthroughs Martin Sheen is an independently produced television series airing in markets around the country on public television. The program is hosted by the legendary Martin Sheen, who is beginning his second half-century in American entertainment in 2013. Mr. Sheen has developed a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most respected actors during a career that includes more than 60 film appearances.

Martin Sheen Breakthroughs is talking to teachers, speech pathologists, and other therapists about how they are helping children with specific language disorder. Specific language disorder often is caused by problems deep inside the brain, and can be helped with therapy to help children re-wire their speech. In this new report, Martin Sheen PBS will show audiences how children are improving their communication skills through practice and the help of dedicated professionals armed with the latest research.
