Agexport Today Digital Newsletter: The New Communication Mean for the Exporting Industry

With the Support of Digital Marketing, the Communications Department of the Guatemalan Exporters Association -AGEXPORT-, launched the AGEXPORT TODAY Digital platform. This tool intends to become the first option on last minute news about the exporting industry.

AGEXPORT Staff, partners, members of the board of directors, commercial attaché, journalists, commercial contacts, students between the ages of 17 to 28, businessman and businesswoman, and general public interested on the biggest news on the exporting industry are the target audience for creating this platform, which is looking to show how the exporting industry affects the socio-economic development of the country.

“AGEXPORT TODAY Digital Newsletter is a friendly mean, created to generate national and international contacts interested in Guatemala’s products and services. It also intends to strengthen the country's image and promote AGEXPORT as the source of information on exporting industry,” noted the General Director of AGEXPORT, Ing. Luis Godoy.

Results indicate that the platform AGEXPORT TODAY Digital received 2,297 views within one week of its launch on cyberspace; that is an average of 328 views per day. Most of the readers are from Guatemala and other countries such as El Salvador, Costa Rica, Canada, United States of America, Argentina, Holland, Portugal and Sweden.

With these results, we triplicate our final goal for the AGEXPORT Today Digital Newsletter, which was to have at least 100 views per day. In addition, this digital platform allows the user to read directly from their cell phone, tablet or computer, with the possibility of including multimedia services such as videos, photo gallery, audio, and others, noted Godoy.

The AGEXPORT Today newsletter started in 2008 as a response to the communication needs of AGEXPORT's partners and it consisted on daily base mailings, with brief and up to date news, generated by the exporting industry. In five years it has evolved to the level of implementing audiovisual stories, news on rural impact, and in 2013 it jumped to a digital level.

"At the beginning, AGEXPORT Today newsletter was sent only to staff and members of the board of directors; however, we decided to spread out with the purpose of reaching Guatemala's people so that they can identify and learn more about the influence and the many possibilities that the exporting industry has provided to this country and its families,” noted, Fanny D. Estrada, Director of Competitiveness of AGEXPORT.
