“The StraightAce Math program is designed to help educators maintain student interest in difficult topics through fun, in-game rewards for study achievements," said Shigeki Matsuo, president of Benesse America.

StraightAce Learning, a powerful digital learning system for middle school students, is offering one-month pilot programs of StraightAce Math to educators. This interactive, multi-platform math tool creates excitement, prepares students for high school, and builds a strong mathematical foundation. Educators can incorporate the StraightAce Learning math system into classroom activities or use as an effective homework management tool for their entire class.
Benesse America staff will be on hand at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) 2013 Annual Meeting in Denver, April 17-20, to provide live product demonstrations and discuss effective methods for educators to incorporate the system into classroom lessons or homework assignments. Educators interested in learning more or signing up for the exclusive pilot program can visit the Benesse America booth (635) at NCTM or StraightAce.com/NCTM. Pilot program applicants will be accepted through April 30, 2013.
StraightAce Learning has taken the latest research on gamification and learning to create an effective tool to make math topics fun and rewarding. Students receive targeted practice to master skills appropriate for their grade level, supplementing classroom lessons with valuable content and fun features such as trophies and rewards to maintain interest. Each grade level includes 150 math topics, which are all aligned with Common Core State Standards, and include in-depth coverage of topics like ratio and proportional relationships, expressions and equations, the number system, geometry equations, and statistics and probability.
“Educators often struggle with engaging students in challenging mathematical concepts,” said Shigeki Matsuo, president of Benesse America. “The StraightAce Math program is designed to help educators maintain student interest in difficult topics through fun, in-game rewards for study achievements. With this pilot program, we are providing educators with a tool to help keep students engaged at the end of the school year, which can be one of the most difficult times to maintain student interest.”
StraightAce Learning is available on any Web-connected device, including personal computers, tablets and mobile devices. And the cloud-based system saves progress between devices for a seamless, mobile learning experience for students to learn wherever they are. Teachers are encouraged to use the StraightAce Learning dashboard as an effective homework management tool for instant grading and daily progress reports for the whole class.
