Since its humble beginnings in 1969, Hilton Head’s Heritage tournament has welcomed distinguished golf greats, throngs of spectators and thousands of volunteers to its spectacular Island. Sprawled over 5,000 acres on the southern most tip of Hilton Head Island, Harbor Town Golf Links at the Sea Pines Resort plays host to the tournament again this week.

With an estimated $80 million infused into the local economy, businesses across the Island consider this week a strong indicator of the upcoming summer season. “We’ve seen record numbers of vacation rental bookings for this week,” says Tom Ridgway, owner of Hilton Head Rentals & Golf. “All of our Sea Pines and Harbor Town properties filled up quickly this year compared to the last few years.” Strong spring bookings is just one of the indicators pointing to a promising summer season for businesses on Hilton Head Island.

Business owners on Hilton Head see the RBC Heritage tournament as a boost to the local economy and an opportunity to showcase the natural beauty, exceptional golf and friendly local community on the Island. So far, this year has lived up to expectations.
